On SPHR's Facebook page, they discussed whether to boycott Starbucks or not due to Israel affiliation. The club president at the time, Ala'a Hamdan stated 'Well, Starbucks' CEO is Zionist, like the CEOs of many other companies, so you decide'. This line of argumentation is classical Jew hate via stereotyping. Has the club conducted a scientific survey of company CEOs? Do they support Israel? Or is it common knowledge perhaps that 'Zionists run the world's finances and news'? University of calgary hosts event where speaker defames israel, raises funds for banned advert10/10/2013 On October 8, 2013, the University of Calgary allowed SPHR bring in guest speaker Miko Peled who spent the hour defaming Jews and Israel. The event was also a fundraiser for the "Disappearing Palestine" bus adverts defamation campaign, which has been banned where they were initially submitted in Calgary and Toronto, for "inaccuracies". SPHR took footage of Peled's talk and promised the crowd it would be posted. To this day SPHR has not released the footage. Some of the statements made on the University of Calgary campus that day by Peled:
